BARCELONA

Hello, wonderful people! I am so happy to finally have the time to tell you all about my stay in Barcelona, which has definitely been pure bliss. Summertime there is magical and you can feel happiness in the air. It surely was love at first sight! I’ve visited many places and my heart is still going crazy when I think of Paris, but I guess with each new city/country I discover, I get to know more about other cultures and find new things that I enjoy. I really am so, so grateful to have the chance to travel, do what I love and follow my dreams.

I definitely needed more time so I can manage to visit everything I wanted to and really take in all the beauties this city has to offer. However, I am happy that I got a feel of all the wonders and I must admit I was fascinated by the architecture. You would expect Gaudi’s work to take your breath away and that happened to me too, but even buildings where people live are work of art. Sagrada Família is such an astonishing church and I suggest you go and see it or at least pass by as you won’t regret it. I really hope to get back to Barcelona and visit Park Güell as unfortunately I didn’t manage to do that this time. The Magic Fountain of Montjuic is a must see and believe me when I say it is an absolute pleasure to watch (I found myself standing in front of the fountain for ages, taking in the music and water movements, a real delight).

Now, on the more soft side, food was amazing! (I still dream of the yummiest apple muffin I ever had). From fresh juices and pastries (really good places for breakfast are El Fornet d'en Rossend on Rambla de Catalunya, 82 and Cornelia & Co on Carrer de València, 225) to dishes that you just need to try such as Pan Con Tomate and Crema Catalana, Barcelona seemed to continuously surprise me. When it comes to tapas, my favourite were patatas bravas (you can have some delicious food at Ciutat Comtal on Rambla de Catalunya, 18, just bear in mind that you can even wait for an hour to get a table). La Bouqueria Market is a really popular food location and it’s not to be missed. What made me fall in love with this place were the people, which were so welcoming and happy. All the colours, the smell of fresh food in the air and the liveliness of the place put such a huge smile on my face.

It’s great to see how people could escape from the business of the city and just take a moment and relax on the beach, while listening to the sound of waves and taking in all the sun. That’s exactly what I did and I absolutely loved it… I guess salt in the air and sand in my hair really create some of my favourite summer moments… I find contagious all the energy and positive vibes in people that summer brings out xoxo
