It’s that time of the year again… when the streets buzz with people dressed up, photographers standing by at every corner to make sure they take snaps of interesting details, furry shoes, minimalist looks and eye catching hair styles. Fashion weeks create a safe environment for experimentation, setting trends and truly putting your creative mind to work. #LFW was once again an inspiring experience. I love discovering new designers who embrace colour, different techniques and innovative ways of presenting their work. The passion poured into the creations and shows is energising and puts you into a state of mind of freedom… to dream and have fun.

#LFW - Alex S. YU Presentation

As I’m in love with photography, I always find it to be so much fun when attending shows as I get to play dress up and at the same time to catch on camera behind the scenes moments, as well as the final looks during the shows. I am so happy to be sharing with you backstage photos as this allows you to gain an insight into the magic that takes place before the shows. It’s amazing to see how many people do their best, how many talented people are out there and how much dedication goes into each and every creation, from the first sketch to the model wearing it and presenting it to the world.

AW17 seems to be an intriguing season so expect bold colours, shapes and textures.Yellows, reds and florals are in, as well as super-sized earrings and oversized knitwear.

I always say style is more important than trends. You can absolutely experiment and incorporate eye catching pieces into an otherwise plain outfit. However do remember that style is personal and some trends won’t necessarily be a match for you but at least try and re-invent yourself. You can do so by adding layers and playing with textures. You will definitely give a fresh feel to your outfits; plus, you’ll also feel good about it. At the end of the day getting dressed should be fun and bring out our creative side.

I hope you’ll enjoy the photos, colours, shapes and feelings they bring and do let me know how you feel about playing with fashion :-)
