Week 4: Anahata

Hi, beautiful people! Hope you’re very well and thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t express in words how pumped I am at the end of week 4! Say whaaat? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yep, 4 weeks passed by since I took the decision to embark on a 7 weeks journey towards a better me. And I must tell you it was the best thing I did in a long while.

This week I spent quality time with myself, out and about running or just taking walks in the park and taking in the beauty and stillness nature delights us all with every single day. The more I focus my attention on the little things in life and on being grateful for everything that surrounds me, for my mind, body and soul, for people in my life, the more I learn about life itself.

This week’s focus was on the heart chakra and what better way to reach balance and truly feel love other than by embracing everything that surrounds us and by accepting ourselves with all that we are, flaws and all, because that’s what makes us, us! The heart chakra is represented by colour green and probably that’s why I felt the need to spend as much time as possible in nature. Below are the affirmations I used throughout the week and alongside meditating:

  • I give and receive love effortlessly and unconditionally
  • I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • I nurture my inner child
  • I live in balance, in a state of gracefulness and gratitude
  • I love the beauty of nature and the animal world
  • I forgive myself
  • I am connected with other human beings
  • I am peaceful

I’m happy that this week I’ve exercised more and did my first ever 5km run outdoors ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad to see how much I’m progressing in such a short time and it’s not necessarily a matter of reaching a goal, but the experience in itself. I felt like giving up a couple of times but then I thought why not keep on going… I only had about 1.5km left and thought it would be easy to get to 5km… I did 1km and thought it took forever but then decided to stop thinking about the end result and to put all my energy into the present moment and enjoy every single step I was taking. I was tired, unsure, excited and full of energy, all at the same time! But I did it; when I stopped focusing on how long I had left until I reached my goal and enjoyed the moment, it didn’t seem hard anymore, because it became fun.

The above also reflects our daily lives… I feel that sometimes we focus so much on reaching a goal that we literally miss out on enjoying and living our life. And that’s why I’m so excited about this journey… I’m learning so much about myself, my way of perceiving life, what works and what doesn’t. I seek results but also make the most of each moment in the process.

I’ll stop here tonight and the only other thing I’d like to share with you, is a short list of some amazing books, which helped me understand myself better, while also opening my eyes to the unlimited potential within us and the wonders life has to offer.

  • The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma (I’m half way through the book and I find it helpful, as well as delightful)
  • Aleph by Paulo Coelho (just finished reading… it’s such a captivating book, it took me less than a week to read it)
  • Life Loves You by Louise Hay and Robert Holden (such an inspiring book; I have ‘life loves you’ written on my bathroom mirror as a daily reminder that life mirrors back to us exactly how we feel about ourselves)

Wishing you a wonderful week and thank you for taking the time to be here. I hope that by sharing my experience, I inspire you to start looking deeper into your life.

xoxo & see you next Sunday on here and throughout the week on Instagramย @lorenne_blauย ๐Ÿ™‚
